Welcome to Children’s Ecologies! We are excited to share with you our research projects related to children’s engagements with and in nearby nature. Led by Dr. Susan Jagger (Toronto Metropolitan University), our studies with children and educators have explored children’s ecological learning through community mapping; curricular, pedagogical, and methodological possibilities of school gardens; and children’s participation in school garden and nearby nature-based curriculum and research.
In our work with children, educators, and school communities, we’ve used a number of resources and references to support and complement our work. Here, we share some of those resources for children, resources for educators, and resources for researchers with you.
In addition to sharing our research here on Children’s Ecologies, we have been able to share our projects in a number of publications and presentations and we’ve included those here as well.
